This is a modified version of the 98SE image file. I have removed a number of redundant files and removed the RAMDisk support. As the IMG file of a diskette runs much more quickly than a real floppy diskette, the RAMDisk is redundant. A RAMDisk is no longer created, so, in the absence of additional virtual hard disks or partitions, the CD Rom/ISO will be drive D: I have added the old Norton Commander programme to this image. To run it, just type NC at the a:\ prompt. Press F10 to close it. I have used Norton Commander to copy the contents of a Windows 9x CD to a second (logical) virtual hard disk partition, disconnected the 98SE ISO image, and thenrun setup.exe from that partition - this avoids some of the problems mentioned in the main paper. Norton Commander makes the copying exercise MUCH easier than trying to use the DOS 'Copy' command. |
